Our Communities

We are always looking for new faces to join and volunteer for our various community programs. As we like to say, “all are welcome as family” here at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church.

Holy Name

Our mission is to promote the spiritual welfare of the men of the parish by encouraging and assisting them in observing the practice of confraternity of the Most Holy Name of Jesus.  Our ministry is open to all men of the parish.

We meet on the first Tuesday of each month in the parish hall at 6:30PM.

Health Ministry

Our mission is to enhance our parish’s quality of life by helping to improve the health of our members as well as to emphasize wellness and preventive medicine to take control of their own health At our monthly coffee socials on the first Sunday of each month, our parish nurses are available to check your blood pressure and provide additional health information.

We also have a flu vaccine clinic in the fall.

Prayer Shawl

We craft shawls for others with devoted hands and prayerful hearts.  These shawls are given to anyone in need of hope, strength, healing, joy, comfort or peace.

Anyone can bring their knitting and crocheting to the rectory conference room on Wednesday from 1 PM to 2:30 PM.  As we work on our shawls and “lap robes”, we pray, chat and bless our projects.

If you have any questions or know of someone who is in need of extra prayers, please contact the Ministry Center at (716) 693-3822.

Garden Angels

Our mission is to design, plant and nurture the flowerbeds surrounding all of the buildings and in the Grotto. God sends us the sunshine, rain and blesses the work of our hands.  Our volunteers meet outside church on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10AM to Noon during the spring, summer and early fall.  Please join us occasionally or weekly.  We appreciate all the help we can get.

Ministry of Care

Here at Our Lady of Czestochowa, the Ministry of Care team recognizes a direct connection between spirituality and the rest of life. We are concerned with the care of our parishioners in spirit, mind and body. We affirm the act of mercy dictated by Christ to care for the sick, comfort the dying and to be a beacon of encouragement, love and support to the parishioners of Our Lady of Czestochowa.

A wonderful group of parishioners offer prayer, guidance and support to those struggling with physical and emotional needs as well as spiritual ones. We minister to those who are homebound, hospitalized, dying, in assisted living/nursing home care, grieving or needing support for difficult times in their lives.

In addition, volunteers deliver a rose and birthday card to parishioners who are 80 years of age or older.  The cards and roses are delivered on Tuesdays for the birthdays of the week.

Parish Maintenance

The purpose of “The Lord’s Housekeepers” is to see to the care and maintenance of the church interior.  They perform a variety of cleaning jobs, such as dust pews and statues, water plants and fill holy water fonts, to maintain the sanctuary and the church to create a clean and welcoming environment for church members and guests. We meet every Friday morning at 9AM in the church.  For more information, contact the Ministry Center at (716) 693-3822
